- Red Sea and Panama Canal: These crucial shipping routes are facing major delays. The Red Sea has security issues, and the Panama Canal is crowded and undergoing maintenance, which affects shipping times everywhere, including Australia.
- Piracy Threats: More piracy in areas like the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden are driving up insurance costs and causing delays.
- Brazil’s Tax Hike: Brazil recently increased taxes on shipping, making it more expensive to move goods to and from there, which affects global shipping costs and has created a bottleneck of ships racing to get products before the tax hikes take place.
