Stock update

Where is Taipans stock really at?

We now have more stock on order than we have ever had before, with an additional 60% of our total stock holding on order with the manufacturer or in transit. Our mission of a 100% supply rate is heading back to reality.

We will keep you updated and we will achieve our goal of being known as the place to go if you need product any time.

Thanks for your patience.

End of year recap and what’s coming up in 2021

Man it’s been a big year, we have had it all haven’t we! I reckon we could write ourselves a new, New Testament …

  • Drought that’s been likened to the age just prior to Jesus birth.
  • Fires to rival the burning bush that Moses lit.
  • Floods worse than Noah’s 40-day saga.
  • And Covid-19. Of course, they’ll have to rename that one Covid -19/20/21.

Hasn’t it changed the landscape though. Businesses, good businesses crashed and burned and some still struggling to stay afloat, not just locally but worldwide, crickey, what happened this year. Even Steve Irwin would have had trouble negotiating this one. Well they did say the world needed a correction. They certainly got their wish!

Let’s get on with the positives shall we!

This year has been the best thing that ever happened to Taipan. It showed us just how complacent we’d become. Cruising along thinking we are doing a great job and resting on our laurels.

There was a lot happening in the background.

New vertical lift machines

We hit the ground running at the beginning of the year putting up a new vertical stacker in Caboolture.

New stretch test facility

We increased our testing regime and invested in a stretch test facility to test the expansion parameters of assemblies.

New 3” crimpers

We replaced old crimpers at the Rocklea and Melbourne branches for two brand new Italian greaseless O+P 3” crimpers, a massive improvement to the assembly efficiencies at those branches and rounding out the capabilities of all four outlets, fulfilling those larger diameter assemblies and production speed expectations.

New warehouse at Rocklea

Initially putting off the move to expand our Archerfield operation, June saw the opening of the Rocklea warehouse which as you know was over twice the warehouse space of the previous outlet.

New Roles

Management

We invested heavily in our people in 2020 taking the leap and introducing Justin Young to the world of National Sales Management responsibility. Justin since then has excelled and is developing a culture in our sales team that will shape the future of positive collaborative experiences for all our customers looking to improve their position.

Customer care

We have introduced our very first dedicated internal customer care person in W.A who will be complimenting the sales team by ensuring your needs are met and your workshop is in excellent shape to capitalize on any business that comes your way.

Training

We’ve seen Mick Webb achieve a level of competency to allow delivery of product training in a qualification format.

All this and more and that’s not where it ends!

2021 will see us pouring a mountain of time and effort into more improvements but let’s get this year over and on the 1st of February 2021 we’ll tell you exactly what’s coming.
