End-of-Life Procedure for Taipan Hoses
Purpose:
Improper disposal of hydraulic hoses can lead to significant environmental impacts, such as soil and water contamination. To prevent this, we aim to ensure that our products do not contribute to toxic waterways and soil pollution by making sure our customers understand their responsibilities when it’s time to replace a hose.
How to Dispose of Your Hydraulic Hose:
- Drain all remaining fluid and collect it in a designated container
- Determine if the fluid is hazardous
- If hazardous, dispose of the container at resource recovery centres or hazardous waste disposers
- Cut the hose into smaller pieces and remove any fittings or accessories
- Check with your local recycling centre to see if they accept hydraulic hoses
- If the hose is deemed hazardous, contact disposal centres for hazardous waste or a licensed haulier to dispose of the hose
- Consider landfills as a last resort for disposing of the hose
Note: Hose tails, adaptors and couplers can be disposed of at scrap metal recycling facilities.

- Dispose of hydraulic fluid down the drain
- Dispose of hydraulic hoses in the general waste bin
