Here at Taipan, our mission has always been to create a base of raving fans by delivering an outstanding customer experience. We want to ensure we are always providing a service unlike any other, which is why last month, some of our Taipan team got together in Queensland for our second annual Customer Strategy Day!

Through events like our Customer Service Strategy Day, we give our team the opportunity to get together and brainstorm where Taipan is going with customer service, to ensure we are always improving as a company. Over the years, we have found that giving all team members the space and time to put forward their experience and ideas is a great way to see what we are doing right as a company, as well as the areas that may need improvement.

This year has been no exception with so many new ideas we’d be here for the next year writing them down! We are looking forward to putting some of these awesome plans into action so watch this space over the coming months!

It’s been over six months since the Queensland floods ravaged the Taipan Rocklea branch, and since then, a lot of things have changed for our Rocklea team. From new expansions, to stocktakes, to new team members, we thought now would be the perfect time to give you an update on where we’re at these days!

Our building renovations are almost complete, with a brand-new sales and admin office, as well as a new (air-conditioned!) customer service area just in time for those warmer days. All new racking has been installed inside the warehouse and we have to say, it’s looking great after a rough start to the year. The team are looking forward to their fresh new space, and with the addition of a new internal salesperson to the team, it’s full steam ahead for the Rocklea branch.

One of the biggest impacts after the floods was the loss of our vertical lift machine, which was not functional for some time as we waited on international parts. Back up and running, the machine is currently going through a full stocktake and restock to replace all the product that was manually picked and packed from it while it was out of service. It’s a mammoth task, and with how quickly our orders have been growing, we’re going to be honest and let you know that we simply don’t have the staff to get things done as quickly as we would like to. As most people know, filling open positions right now is a real struggle, not just for us but for everyone. So, if you know of anyone who might be interested in a Warehouse Assistant role with our awesome Rocklea team, feel free to point them in our direction!

After such a jam-packed year, we’re sure the team, and our customers, are looking forward to getting back to some sense of normality. We can’t thank our customers enough for the support, patience, and good humour they’ve given us over the last six months. Without your support, and the work of a great team, the outcome of such a massive event could have been far worse. We can’t wait to see what comes next for our Rocklea team!
