For Starter… who is Bimal?
Founded in Perugia Italy, in 1984, Bimal specialises in the design and construction of test benches for fluid and mechanical components. They cover industries from aerospace to agriculture to hydraulics and more. With almost 40 years of experience, Bimal has become an internationally recognised brand that is a technological leader in the pressure impulse testing field.
Taipan’s Investment
To complement Taipan’s current testing facilities here at head office, at the beginning of 2023 we purchased the Bimal BPS40D burst tester. This latest addition helps to improve the results of Taipan’s impulse tester by qualifying crimp dimensions and ensuring the burst ratio of the hose. This relatively simple test provides enhanced data to increase the chances of a successful impulse test.
We know that safety factors of hydraulic hose are crucial, that’s why at Taipan we don’t just take our manufacturers word for it. Not only do we ensure testing carried out by our manufacturers meets rigorous internationally accepted methods in accordance with AS1180, SAE J343, ISO 1402, and ISO 6605; but we also ensure we put our product to the test once it arrives in-house.
The Bimal BPS40D allows pressure gradient increases up to 60,000 PSI, ensuring proof testing far beyond ISO and SAE requirements.
In addition, the Bimal BPS40D allows Taipan to conduct length variation testing whilst under extreme pressure.
