Utilising your website to its fullest potential  

If you have a website, then we bet that you have checked your email junk folder and seen a bunch of emails from people offering SEO services. What on Earth is SEO and why do you keep seeing it everywhere? 

If you have used Google before, then you have seen how Google uses Search Engine Optimisation to display accurate results for your search term. SEO is a bunch of practices and techniques that your website administrator uses to make your website more visible and rank higher on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo etc. If you want your website to appear at the top, you want to do some ‘SEOing’. Because let’s face it, nobody scrolls down further than the first 3 or 4 results. 

More leads equal more sales. The more traffic to your website, the more potential income coming in. If you are a business owner, you will want a website generating new leads, it’s a no-brainer. The better your SEO, the more people go to your website.  

How do I improve SEO on my Website? 

Well, we are glad you asked. We’ve put together 5 hot tips to run by your website administrator. 

  1. Keyword Research 

What are keywords and how can they help your website?  

First, identify keywords that are relevant to your business. Then you will need to put them across pages on your website. Try to target what you think people will type into Google. Simply listing them won’t work, try to create natural-sounding sentences that use a variety of keywords. For example, 

Keywords: Hydraulic hose, equipment maintenance, diesel services, repair hydraulic systems, Toowoomba 

“At XYZ, we specialise in diesel services, repairing hydraulic systems to keep your workplace running smoothly. Servicing Toowoomba and surrounds, whether you are chasing a replacement hydraulic hose or after general maintenance on your equipment, we can help” 

  1. Quality Content 

Content such as blogs, newsletters, and updates are a fantastic way to beef out the keywords on your website, create more pages and encourage more traffic. Google loves to see more pages, common content across each page. 

  1. Meta Tags 

Ensure your Meta Titles & Meta Descriptions have interesting content that makes you want to click through to your website. The Meta Title is what shows up on Google, for example, ours is “Taipan – Hydraulic Hose & Fittings”. The Meta Description is what fills the text below the title and will automatically grab from the wording on the page. If there are no words, there will be an empty meta description, so be sure each page has content on it.  

  1. Build Backlinks 

Backlinks are links between multiple websites. Backlinks can benefit SEO performance as Google treats them like recommendations, it builds trust. For example, Taipan has a stockist list that contains a link to each stockist’s website (if they have one). These are backlinks and benefit both our customers and our website rankings.  

  1. PPC Campaigns 

Pay Per Click (PPC) is an advertising model where you will pay a small sum when your link is clicked. It is a way to buy traffic to your website. Advertisers bid on popular keywords that your audience is likely to use in a search term. PPC campaigns are a wonderful way to sponsor your website on Google, appear at the very top, and drive more customers to your website.  

There are plenty of businesses out there offering SEO services, and while we can’t recommend any particular one for your business, we can say that SEO is extremely important to setting your business up for the future of technology.
