Jimmy Marine

We meet Jimmy again, our hydraulic hose technician, who in our last story made it out of an exploding building with seconds to spare!

Ever dedicated to his craft, Jimmy takes any job. Nothing is ever too big or small for him…. except maybe this time he’s bitten off more than he can chew…

Engines of the large airplane roar, red lights flashing all around, there sit 12 soldiers all ready to deploy.

Captain – “ALL RIGHT MARINES, WE ARE ALMOST AT GO TIME! OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE, GET JIMMY TO CHANGE THE HOSES ON THE ASSEST, MOVE THE ASSEST AND GET TO THE EXTRACTION. WE ARE EXPENDABLE, JIMMY IS NOT. HE’S THE MISSION. ARE WE ALL CLEAR ON THAT SOLIDERS!” He yells.

Troops – “OORAH!” They reply in unison.

Captain – “YOU READY JIMMY?” He yells. 

Jimmy – Jimmy has tears pouring from his eyes and starts to sob, “I JUST SIGNED UP FOR THIS JOB BECAUSE OF THE GREAT DENTAL.“ He shrieks.

Troops – “OORAH!” They reply in unison.

Captain – “QUE THE BATTLE MUSIC.”

Over the planes PA system, a tune starts to blast.

Troop – “SORRY CAP…”

Shoot to thrill by AC/DC starts playing

The planes large cargo door opens, the brightness of the day is temporarily blinding. Wind circulates around the plane, and one after another, troops begin to jump and descend.

Captain – “YOUR TURN JIMMY!” He orders.

Jimmy is hesitant. He steps to the edge of the cargo bay door and looks down.

“O HELL NO! NO FU….!!” The captain pushes jimmy out of the plane closely following.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” – Jimmy screams the entire descent.

They all land safely.

For 6 days they trudge through thick forests, wet swamps, and battle torrential rain all the while avoiding enemies. Finally, they arrive at the asset.

Captain – “It’s go time Jimmy!” Captain nods toward the asset.

This is the moment Jimmy’s been waiting for! Finally, something I’m good at, he thinks to himself.

He rushes over to change the hose. As he begins to take the hose off, his head drops, the tools in his hand falls to the floor with a clang. Jimmy turns around to the Marines with his head stooped low. 

Jimmy – “Its Komatsu… I thought it was JIC… we have to go back and get it…”
