THE HOSE DOWN
AUGUST 2024

The Monthly Wrap-Up

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Taipan? Thanks to the monthly ‘Hose Down’, we’re allowing you to take a sneak peek behind the curtain at what our team has been up to lately!

Unleashing our Inner Legend

What’s been happening around the traps? Loads – as always! Currently gearing up for our annual G&D Day (short for Growth & Development), we can’t wait to see what this year brings!

If you haven’t heard us talk about this one before, it’s an action-packed day of team building, knowledge-sharing, and fun. This year it’s all centred around the theme Building Brilliance, and we have some epic activities and brainstorming sessions in store to bring out exactly that. Topped off with a round of Taipan survivor games, the day is set to be a load of fun so stay tuned for all the photos to come!

Blisters, Bonding and Brilliance

Celebrating another round of blood, sweat, tears and chaffing, this year we had some new victims to undergo the challenge that is Coastrek – a 30km & 50km walk to raise money for the Heart Foundation. It certainly got hearts pumping with 11 hours of continuous walking on one of the nicest days we’ve seen on the Sunny Coast all winter. The event was a total blast, especially for newcomers Pauline (from our Finance team in Head Office) and her friend Bev, who still have victory blisters to remember the day by!

This year marks our third event, challenging some of our team members and raising much needed funds at the same time. Thanks to everyone who donated to such a worthy cause and helped us to get out of bed each Sunday morning and train like crazy. These days are always a blast to be part of and it’s great to see so many locals taking part (11,000 to be exact) – even if it does mean we aren’t able to wear normal shoes for the next couple of weeks!

Staff News – Love, Beauty and the Beast

There has been plenty of action around the rest of the branches whilst some of us kicked back at the beach and enjoyed a leisurely stroll. Paris from Rocklea got hitched in one of the Sunshine Coast’s most beautiful locations, Neil ditched the team and took time off for an island filled holiday to Phuket, and we even managed to snag you a photo of a bizarre mechanical beast Allan found on his recent sales trip to Inverell – it’ll blow your mind!

With loads booked into the calendar for next month and plenty of interstate visits from each of our branches, we can’t wait to see what September brings – catch you next month!

Amy, Allan, Pauline and Bev from Team Taipan complete the challenging walk up the Sunshine Coast for Coastrek 2024! We can see the blisters from here, guys…

Thankfully the Sunshine Coast held up to its name for Coastrek 2024 – and presented the walkers with gorgeous, sunny (albeit, cold) weather!

Allan comes across a Para-Lift Trailing Planter Frame on his trip to Inverell. Now say that 10 times fast!
