THE HOSE DOWN
The Monthly Wrap Up
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Taipan? Thanks to the new monthly ‘Hose Down’, we’re giving you the opportunity to take a sneak peek behind the curtain at what our team has been up to lately!
In February we said a bittersweet farewell to one of our long standing Customer Relations Managers, Mick. Many of you probably know him well as it’s rumoured that he has a Facebook friend list full of everyone he has met and worked with.
In the early days Mick started out as the Manager at our Archerfield branch way back when we were Australian Hose and Fittings. From there, he transitioned over to Caboolture to manage the floor for a while before studying as an accredited hose and fittings trainer. This was followed by his latest role as a Customer Relations Manager for Far North QLD & Southern NSW.
We’ll definitely miss his training, expertise, random dittos and larger than life personality.
It’s awesome to see how far Mick has come and we are excited to see where he will go!
Good luck Mick!
Spreading the love
This month we were determined to spread the love, especially on Valentine’s Day. If you thought our video last year was good, then you are in for a treat! Loaded up with glitter, love arrows and a pair of wings, our resident cupid, Matt, has been spotted spreading the love around the Caboolture warehouse. Despite our staff being shot at, glitter bombed and serenaded, we are managing keeping on top of things. A big shout out to all our staff, we just wanted to say, we love you!

Go-Karting and Golf
Yes, you read that right… go-karting and golf. Our Melbourne branch have taken to the racecourse to compete in a series they’ve dubbed Hump Day Racing. Once per month on a Wednesday evening, across three different venues, they race head-to-head for the glory. Last year there was some practices, but the first official race has taken place with a certain staff member racing ahead. It’ll be exciting to watch the races, unfold… Our Caboolture branch is also getting competitive with a Golf Day tournament. Five teams of four people putting towards bragging rights. I wonder which team will be dubbed the Tiger Woods of Taipan.
What’s happening on our social media?
We’re constantly posting new and exciting content on our social media channels. So give us a follow to keep up to date with the antics that are happening in the branches.
